Create the data storage

You can deploy the development database using the OliveLiteDB project. The instructions for which can be readily obtained by going through MSDN documentation. If you would like to have total control over the deployment, here are the steps to manually deploy the data storage for development environment.
  1. Open OliveLite solution in Visual Studio.
  2. Open the SQL Server Management Studio and connect to your SQL Server Express or Developer edition.
  3. Create a new database 'OliveLite'.
  4. Refresh the list of databases so that you can see the newly created database.
  5. Expand 'OliveLite'.
  6. Click 'Tables' to select it.
  7. Click 'New Query' in the toolbar. Hover on the newly open tab to make sure that if you execute a query in this tab it will run against 'OliveLite'
  8. Open the script 'Schema-0.0.1.sql' in Visual Studio OliveLiteDB project (refer to screenshot below).
  9. Copy all the content of the script to clipboard.
  10. Paste the content in the SQL Server Management Studio Query tab.
  11. Execute the query to create the schema
  12. Open a 'New Query' tab similar to step 7.
  13. Open the script 'Data-0.0.1.sql' in Visual Studio from the OliveLiteDB project.
  14. Copy all the content to clipboard.
  15. Paste the content in the 'New Query' tab opened in step 12 above.
  16. Execute the query to create the initial data.
  17. Open a 'New Query' tab similar to step 7. (Steps here onwards new for Source Code Release 0.0.2)
  18. Open the script 'UpdateTo-0.0.2.sql' in Visual Studio from the OliveLiteDB project.
  19. Copy all the content to clipboard.
  20. Paste the content in the 'New Query' tab opened in step 17 above.
  21. Execute the query to create the initial data.

This completes setting up your data storage for development environment.
